About Civil Society SA
A citizens' advocacy platform built on evidence, powered by signatures, and driven by the belief that South Africans deserve a government that works.
Our Mission
Civil Society South Africa exists because legislation gets passed in Parliament that directly endangers ordinary citizens - and most people never even know it is happening.
We monitor proposed bills, analyse their real-world impact, run petition campaigns to collect citizen mandates, and submit formal legal arguments to Parliament.
We are not a political party. We are not aligned to any faction. We represent the citizens who pay taxes, obey laws, and deserve a government that protects rather than endangers them.
What We Do
Monitor Legislation
We track proposed bills and regulatory changes that affect public safety, firearm rights, private security, and citizens' ability to protect themselves.
Run Petition Campaigns
Every signature becomes part of a formal legal submission. We do not collect names for show - we collect mandates for action.
Submit to Parliament
We prepare formal legal arguments, file PAIA applications to access government records, and present citizen positions through official democratic channels.
Hold Government Accountable
When government fails to protect its citizens, we ensure the failure is documented, publicised, and challenged.
Our Values
Citizen safety above bureaucracy.
Merit over connections. Competence over cadres.
Private security is essential infrastructure - not a luxury.
Data is the weapon of advocacy.
No scams. No partisan games. No reputational shortcuts.
True non-racialism means no race laws at all.
